TX-38 Ducted Rocket

The ducted rocket is a hybrid, air-breathing device that is intermediate in design and function between a solid propellant rocket motor and an athodyd, or ramjet, motor. Successful flight testing of the TX-38 was conducted in 1958. Thiokol holds the patent for this system.
